The Bluff City Iai Kai was established in 2001 in response to the growing interest of some Mid-South iaidoka in the collection and restoration of the Japanese sword. Its goal is to foster the appreciation of nihonto in both their dynamic and artistic aspects.
In the fall of 2009 Sensei Babin retired and passed the dojo to Mark Chevalier.
Sensei Chevalier has been studying and teaching traditional martial arts for more than thirty years.
